Meet your pup's person

Hi there, I'm Hester

In memory of my beloved Rottie, Uzo, who passed away in June 2023, I am dedicated to caring for pets and finding creative inspiration in every paws-on-the-ground adventure.

Powered by tea, mud, and dogs

Just before writing this, I was standing knee-deep in horse dung on a wintery farm, trying to convince a Border Collie that 7 a.m. zoomies are, in fact, optional. That pretty much sums me up: animals first, dignity second.

Dogs — especially the big, bouncy, sensitive, “I-have-a-lot-of-feelings” types — have been my greatest teachers. They’re funny, wise, chaotic, grounding, and endlessly themselves. And they bring out something honest and soft in us humans, if we let them. That’s why everything I do now sits under one simple belief: life is better, lighter, and richer when we follow a dog’s lead.

The petsitting bit

I specialise in dogs who don’t thrive in kennels: the anxious, the exuberant, the Velcro Labradors who need structure, calm, and someone who genuinely gets them.
Safety first, routine respected, belly full, heart steady.
Once a dog feels secure, the magic happens.

The storytelling bit

I write cheeky, heartfelt dog stories — like Pawnderings — that make you laugh, tear up, and remember exactly why your dog is your favourite weirdo.

The talks & wisdom bit

I speak about the joy, grounding, and emotional brilliance dogs bring into our lives… plus the occasional lesson in humility, mud, or stolen sandwiches.

At the heart of it all

My mission: Every dog goes to bed feeling safe, loved, and utterly cherished.
How I do it: I care for pups, celebrate their quirks, and help you reconnect with just how brilliant life is with a dog by your side.
